Keynote: Sam Whiting, Director of Global Corporate Citizenship, NW Region, Boeing Co.

Sam is an amazing philanthropic leader who understands the power of story and storytelling both from the perspective of a grantseeker (while leading Thrive Washington's significant statewide work) and as a grantmaker (from his longtime tenure at Boeing before Thrive Washington and again today.)

We're excited to hear his perspective on how to tell your story, win hearts, change minds, and make the world better. We know you are too.

Grant Competition - Closed

Proposals are no longer being accepted for the 2016 grant competition, but we hope you will join us at the Conference on Oct. 6 to find out which proposal(s) the Funders Panel selects and awards with the $2,000 grant. Among submissions, six finalists were chosen at random from all eligible applicants. These will be discussed and critiqued by a panel of experienced funders in front of a Conference audience, and the funds will be awarded on the spot! Registered attendees of the Conference will also have an opportunity to view the six finalists proposals in advance and select one they feel is strongest for the "Audience Choice Award" (recognition, but no cash). To see the guidelines for this year's competition, please read this one-page call for proposals.

Conference Sessions

Check out the 2016 conference program! You'll learn how to harness storytelling and other techniques to make your everyday grant application and/or reporting into a powerful, convincing statement about what your organization is and does.

Star Award

The PSGA Star Award recognizes an individual who has made a lasting impact to the field of grantwriting in the Northwest. Each year nominations are submitted from the grantwriting community, and the award winner is selected by PSGA members. Presentation takes place during a Conference plenary session. Find out more about the Star Award and its past winners.

Scholarships

Scholarships Closed! Applications for partial scholarships accepted until September 9, 2016. We wish to support people who work or volunteer for financially limited nonprofits, especially organizations that primarily serve underserved populations. Freelancers and consultants may apply for a scholarship, if they primarily serve one organization. Current students and recent graduates are also eligible.

Volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the office. Participation may involve joining the Conference Committee (monthly meetings February-October that decide theme, sessions and innovations) and/or a smaller role, such as producing a Conference workshop or helping on the day of the event.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsors receive recognition at the event and in publications and electronic materials read by many of the region's development professionals. Opportunities start at just $300. Please see the sponsorships page or contact the office for more information.
