Position Reports to: Institute Coordinator

The PSGA Institute, sponsored by the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association in cooperation with the Nonprofit Assistance Center, will provide training in prospect research and grant proposal writing to community non-profit organizations through workshops and mentoring.

Job Summary:

Facilitates three workshops by delivering instruction on the fundamentals of grantwriting to classes of six to twelve participants, assists in preparing curriculum, works with a novice trainer as a student co-facilitator, works with mentors and Institute Coordinator to assure continuity of training pre and post-workshop.

Must be available on the following dates:

  • Orientation and training: September 29th, Saturday, full day
  • Institute workshops:
    • October 10th, Wednesday, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
    • October 17th, Wednesday, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
    • October 20th, Saturday, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Finalizes workshop curriculum in accordance with pre-determined course objectives and content outline.
  • Selects workshop materials.
  • Participates in full day program orientation.
  • Helps develop training skills of a novice student co-facilitator.
  • Along with student co-facilitator, delivers instruction during three hands-on participatory workshops.
  • Maintains contact with Institute Coordinator.
  • Prepares classroom with instructional materials, supplies, equipment and refreshments as needed.
  • Participates in evaluation of program to assess quality of instruction, student learning success, and goals & objectives for future workshops.
  • Performs other related duties as requested. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Required
  • Willingness to serve as senior trainer to a novice student co-facilitator.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deliver curriculum using multiple teaching methodologies

  • Preferred
  • 5 years experience in grantwriting.

  • Minimum 3 years experience teaching grantwriting. 

  • Demonstrated experience working with nontraditional populations.

  • Experience in cross training or on the job training.
