Position Reports to: Institute Coordinator
The PSGA Institute, sponsored by the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association in cooperation with the Nonprofit Assistance Center, will provide training in prospect research and grant proposal writing to community non-profit organizations through workshops and mentoring.
Job Summary:
Serves as mentor and grantwriting coach to PSGA Institute participants, assists assigned participants in the development and submission of a grant proposal, works closely with facilitators and Institute Coordinator to assure continuity with Institute curriculum.
Must be available on the following dates:
- Orientation and training: September 29th, Saturday, full day
- Introduction to Institute participants: October 20th, Saturday morning
- Meet regularly with Institute participants: October - December 2007
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in full day program orientation
- Contributes to development of Institute curriculum
- Meets regularly with assigned Institute participants to assist in the grantwriting and submission process.
- Is reasonably available for consultation with assigned Institute participants between regularly scheduled meetings as needed.
- Is reasonably available for consultation post-workshop
- Maintains contact with Institute Coordinator throughout the grantwriting pre- and post- workshop and the grant proposal submission process.
- Participates in evaluation of program.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
- Required
- Daily schedule that allows flexibility for meetings and consultations.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel to sites of assigned Institute participants.
- Preferred
- 3 year experience in grantwriting.
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching grantwriting.
- Demonstrated experience working with nontraditional populations.
