Ever wonder whether you should talk about reach or depth? Whether the word count really matters? If it’s more about the relationship or the application? Now’s your chance to hear your most burning questions answered. This session will bring together a panel of funders to answer questions sourced from our PSGA membership, so watch for an email looking for your deepest – or most urgent- grant-related questions and come to our panel to hear them answered by real, live funders. You’ll also get a chance to hear what funders feel is the most important thing you should know in grantseeking..

Presenter Bio: 

Christopher Wiggins, Program Officer, Liberty Mutual Foundation: 
Christopher manages grants made in Washington State through the Safeco Insurance Fund.  The Foundation’s grant-making priorities focus on organizations and programs that provide accessibility for individuals of all abilities; security for men, women and children who are homeless; and educational opportunities for children who are living in poverty. A Tacoma native, Mr. Wiggins now resides in Seattle with his wife and two school-age children.  He has worked in corporate philanthropy since 2004.

Caroline Miceli, Program Officer, Satterberg Foundation:
 Caroline is a program officer at the Satterberg Foundation, working to develop and facilitate grantmaking strategies. Prior to joining the Foundation, Caroline worked with the Medina Foundation in Seattle, the Yellowstone Park Foundation in Bozeman, Montana, and also with the Clinton Foundation in New York. Switching to a career in the non-profit sector, Caroline previously worked in the international automotive industry with BMW in Germany, China, and New York and with Toyota at their North American headquarters. Caroline holds a masters degree from Columbia University in management and international affairs. She completed her undergraduate degree in politics and international relations at Scripps College, The Claremont Colleges.

Mark Dederer, Executive Director, The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation: Mark joined the Biller Family Foundation as Executive Director in 2016. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Community Affairs Manager for the Wells Fargo Foundation, overseeing the charitable giving program and team member involvement throughout the Washington Region. He also managed Community Affairs in Oregon and Alaska. Before rejoining Wells Fargo in 2010, he was Vice President & Director of the Safeco Insurance Foundation and developed its national contributions program. He serves on the board of Philanthropy Northwest, Virginia Mason Hospital board of governors, is a commissioner for the Seattle Center, a member of the Central Washington University Business School advisory board, and is Past Board Chair of Seafair, Seattle’s premier summer festival.


Deb Twersky, Arts Cultural Facilities Program Manager, 4Culture: Debra is the Arts Cultural Facilities program manager for 4Culture. She oversees Funding Program budgets and initiatives, and manages the Arts Capital and Equipment programs, providing technical assistance to organizations and suburban cities developing cultural spaces throughout King County. Deb has thirty years of experience in non-profit management, special event fundraising and capital projects planning for heritage and arts facilities and working with neighborhood planning. She directed Kirkland Arts Center, and served as Associate and Executive Director of the San Diego Historical Society. She was a fine arts major at Arizona State University and the University of California at San Diego.
