Melissa Ralston has twenty years of experience in grantwriting, fundraising, event planning, and community engagement. She has a BA in Journalism from the University of La Verne, a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington, and a Masters in Public Administration from Seattle University.

In 2006, she helped create KEXP's Community Partnerships Initiative, which provides free on-air and online promotions to Puget Sound area nonprofits, and volunteered running the program for six years. She has spent the bulk of career working toward ending youth and family homelessness. Melissa is currently the Corporate & Foundation Manager at FareStart overseeing all private and corporate proposals. She also teaches grant writing webinars to members of FareStart’s national program Catalyst Kitchens. She is an avid user of Grammarly and the Oxford comma. Melissa lives in Lynnwood with her filmmaker husband and two gray cats.
