DEI efforts span an evolving set of ideas and practices with a broad variety of applications. Foundations and Government Funding Agencies are continuously evaluating their own roles in advancing DEI through their giving. Join us for a thoughtful discussion around diversity, equity, and inclusion with funders and respected program managers. 

About Our Speakers

Sheila Capestany 
Sheila Capestany’s work is informed by over 25 years in both the public and human services sectors in direct service, community organizing, nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, and policy work. She serves as the Strategic Advisor for Children and Youth for King County and provides strategic direction and project management for King County’s Best Starts for KidsInitiative. She is an adjunct professor at Seattle University and a lecturer at the University of Washington on the topics of Strategic Program Management, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, and Advanced Social Welfare Policy.

Gunner Scott
Gunner Scott is the Director of Programs at the Pride Foundation. He has led change in the areas of LGBTQ partner abuse, transgender equality, community arts and culture, LGBTQ public policy, and public education and training. He currently serves on the Grantmakers United for Trans Communities (GUTC) advisory committee, an initiative of Funders for LGBTQ Issues, and was previously a Commissioner on the City of Seattle LGBTQ Commission. 
His writing on the topics of transgender equality, healthcare access, racial equality, and LGBTQ partner abuse has been published by a wide array of media outlets.

Rebecca Allen
Rebecca Allen is a Project Manager at Social Justice Fund NW, where she loves organizing donors to move money to movement work. She's a lifelong Pacific Northwesterner with family roots on Oregon land stolen by treaty from the Kalapuya people. Her background and expertise include facilitation, community organizing, anti-racism training, community-based participatory research, and supporting families as a birth doula. Rebecca completed her Masters in Public Health at Portland State University in 2014. She lives in Seattle with her partner, his gecko, and one very curious 9-month-old baby.

Olivia Littles - Panel Moderator
Olivia Littles was the staff Grant Writer at Seattle's Northwest African American Museum (NAAM) for eleven years. She began working at NAAM in 2007 as a volunteer curatorial assistant before joining the staff the following year to support the new museum's development and grant writing efforts. A life-long museumophile, Olivia received her PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Washington where her research focused on identity construction and African American museums.

  • Your help is needed to set up the room prior to the event.  If you can join other volunteers at 11:15 to help set up chairs and tables, please send an email to [email protected].
  • Current members may continue to bring a friend to one lunch program this year at the member rate (FREE).  When guests register, enter the name of the member who sent the invitation.
  • PSGA does not serve food or beverages. You are welcome to bring your own food and eat while you listen. FareStart Café, located on the 2nd floor of the building, offers beverages and food.

  • Join the PSGA Listserv! After logging in on the PSGA website, you can sign up for the listserv from the members' welcome page. It is a forum where PSGA members exchange information and seek answers to grant-related questions.
  • For the health and comfort of all event participants, we ask that you refrain from wearing strong fragrances while attending PSGA events. Many people are allergic and/or sensitive to fragrances. Please use in moderation when wearing perfume, cologne, or scented lotions.



About our lunchtime programs:

Lunchtime meetings offer a special guest presenter or panel discussion, with Q&A. Come at 11:30 to chat with others in the nonprofit world. Online registration is normally available no less than 3 weeks before the event date.
