All Hands on Deck: Launching and Running a Successful Capital Campaign 

Registration has now closed for this event but you are welcome to walk-in on Wednesday and attend the event.  

When it comes to capital campaigns, everyone in the organization has a role to play! Our capital campaign pros will discuss:

  • What are the basics an organization should have in place BEFORE it starts applying for capital campaign grants?
  • How do you decide which funders to approach for capital campaign funds, and how will this affect your other fundraising efforts?
  • Do you need a Case Statement to run a capital campaign?

 

 

Presenters: 

 

Miriam Barnett, CEO of YWCA Pierce County, has overseen three capital campaigns during her time with the YWCA including the current $23 million campaign, Home at Last, which will build 54 apartments for homeless families in downtown Tacoma, as well as provide additional program space to expand counseling services.

 

Tanya Durand, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, has overseen three capital campaigns during her time with museum including the current $10 million campaign, More Than a Museum, which will establish the first children’s museum on a U.S. military installation (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) as well as strengthen the flagship museum’s ability to maintain and sustain itself. 

 

The meeting will be moderated by Russ Sondker, who works in marketing and resource development for Community Health Care. During his time with the organization, he’s been involved in four capital campaigns, each raising anywhere from $1-24 million to support healthcare facilities and equipment.
