Public Funding: Where's the Money?

You hear the news about cuts in federal programs such as food stamps as well as state and county surpluses. Is public funding up or down? Can one source substitute for another?

Panelists include:

Andy Nicholas, Senior Fellow at Budget and Policy Center. Andy specializes is state budget and tax policy and previously worked at the Washington, D.C.-based Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

Joshua Heim, Deputy Director of 4Culture, King County's Cultural Development Authority. He is responsible for long-range planning, budget development, oversight of 4Culture's grant funding programs, managing community partnerships, and supporting the ever-changing cultural community of King County.

Jenna Isakson, Director of the Office of Sponsored Projects at Seattle University. Jenna holds a B.S. in Organizational Communication from the University of Portland and a Masters in Public Administration from Seattle University. She is also co-founder and Board Treasurer for the all-volunteer nonprofit, KiloWatts for Humanity, which works to alleviate energy poverty by providing access to electricity and fostering the development of sustainable businesses.

Jennifer Nortrup, Grants Manager for United Way of King County. Jennifer has raised and administered over $5.2 million in government grants from federal, state and local sources since 2007.

This program will also include the 2020 PSGA Annual Membership meeting and presentation of the 2019 PSGA Goodwin Deacon Star Award. Whether you are a member or not, please help us welcome new board members and thank departing members for their service. Come to network with your peers and enjoy delicious desserts after your brown bag lunch.
