Join a Committee! PSGA is membership driven -- we achieve only what we ourselves commit to. Any member (not just board members) can join a committee. By sharing your energy and expertise, you will help make PSGA an even more effective professional resource. You will help us plan and implement projects, meet grantwriters and some grantmakers, have some fun and sometimes learn inside information. Take a look at the committee descriptions below, then call or e-mail the PSGA office to volunteer.
- Lunchtime Program Committee
The Program Committee develops PSGA’s bimonthly Seattle lunchtime programs. Members brainstorm program topics, identify and recruit funders and other individuals to present at programs, recruit moderators, develop questions for panelists, and assist in coordinating logistics at the programs. This is a great way for you to get to know funders as a colleague rather than a grant applicant! Co-chairs: Rebecca McColl and Kyoko Maruyama
- Technology Committee
The Technology Committee oversees the many ways in which PSGA serves its membership via technology. We have recently hired a social media contractor to develop and maintain a presence for PSGA on Facebook and LinkedIn; the contractor will need a steady stream of content from the board. Tech Committee members are currently working on an upgrade of the PSGA website and would welcome help, especially from those experienced in creating websites. Chair: Goodwin Deacon
- Conference Committee
PSGA’s full-day conference each fall is the organization’s largest event of the year. A wide array of funders and other professionals teach workshops on a variety of topics and targeting a variety of skill levels. In addition, attendees have an opportunity to watch funders deliberate over real proposals. The Conference Committee meets throughout the year to plan the fall conference. Co-chairs: Nick Peyton and Kate Neville
- Finance Committee
The Finance Committee oversees PSGA’s budget, working with the administrator and board to ensure the organization remains fiscally sound. Chair: Parke Nietfeld
- Funders Forum Committee
This group plans and implements the annual Funders Forum, including identifying and inviting funder representatives and coordinating logistics. Chair: Parke Nietfeld
- Specialized Training Committee
The Specialized Training Committee plans and implements educational and training activities based on member interest. Co-chairs: Joyce Mork-O’Brien and Windsor Vest
- Membership Committee
The purpose of the PSGA Membership Committee is to ensure that PSGA services and activities are aligned with the needs and expectations of members. In general, the committee establishes specific goals and processes for improving member services and engaging PSGA members. Chair: Shelley Milne
- South Sound Committee
The South Sound Committee plans and implements bimonthly programs in Tacoma to meet the needs of the South Puget Sound grantwriting community. Co-Chairs: Russ Sondker and Jane Kenyon
