Emily Weiner

Emily Weiner is Director of Foundation Relations for Western Washington University Foundation. From 2008 to 2014, she managed the membership program and wrote grants for Mount Baker Theatre. From 1978 to 2008, she worked as a journalist: writing and editing for Cascadia Weekly and The Bellingham Herald; producing maps and charts for The New York Times; freelancing for print and online publications; and teaching presentation of data. While earning a B.S. in Journalism/Communications from State University of New York Empire State College (27 years after graduating from high school), she interned on-air at KZAZ-FM, an NPR radio station. She has lived in Bellingham since 1990, where she developed the Joining Hands Against Hate campaign and has volunteered with Dance Gallery, Congregation Beth Israel, Northwest Pride Foundation, the schools her children attended, and in support of Lummi carver Felix Solomon.
